27. 2. / 20:00 / LA FABRIKA
The production is based on Natalia Gorbaněvská’s book of the same name. Along with linguist Konstantin Babicki, poet Vadim Delon, factory worker Vladimir Dremljug, anglist Viktor Fajnberg, physicist Pavel Litvinov, linguist Larisa Bogorazova and student Taťjana Bajevová, she was one of the “eight braves”, who on 25 August, 1968 on the Red Square organized a peaceful demonstration against the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Warsaw Pact armies. The demonstration was scattered by the secret agents of the KGB within few minutes and its participants were arrested. Interrogations, trials, imprisonment, exiles, working camps and forced placements in psychiatric hospitals followed.
The theatre play combines documentary theatre narrating about the events that followed the demonstration on 25 August 1968, and art theatre of persistent images, inspired by poetry by Natalia Gorbaněvská, Vadim Delon and other poets of Soviet dissent of the 1960s and 1970s.
The thematic art installation will be open an hour before the start.
