Handke’s traditionaly/experimental text is a poetic parable about the journey and footprint leaving. The constant roaming of individuals and couples becomes a roaming of huge crowds of people, insects, spiders, birds. Everything started with a banal dispute of neighbours, a common husband and wife quarrel, and it ends with the arrival of a comet, the helpless migration of the global character, the apocalyptic end of time.

Handke examines “new possibilities for his dramatic and theatrical poetics” and strengthens and develops epic and lyrical features. In rare moments, everyday life meets a myth, an absurd comic with various, often tragic, models of interpersonal relationship. So long we have been looking for the “third” until we have forgotten “the second”. So long we have been admiring the mere reflections until our existence has become shadowy. What would we read from our own footprints? Stopy zbloudilých has a universal character, and yet it very accurately defines current social tensions; it is a deep statement about finding the right direction (or the escape route) as well as accepting roaming and confusion as existential necessity, roaming and confusion as the possible origin of the regained orientation.
