Growing up in the sixties

This documentary performance closes up our theatre performance trilogy about the most important periods in Czech 20th century history. My meet up again with heroes from Violets and Soups reaching their teenage years. Now they are living their own stormy youth experiences, looking for their own identities and become grown ups in the background of huge society and political changes of the sixties. How did the Prague Spring and its forced ending influenced their destiny? Based on what values they have been deciding in the critical moments? Did they leave the country or did they stay? Personal confessions are accompanied by snapshots from private archives. We started working on this performance in summer 2018 and premiered in spring 2019. The difficult process of creation reflects the deep dive of all the attendees. Not only into personal stories, historical sources and visual materials, but mostly into still persisting different opinions and painful emotions, this part of our history still evokes.
