Guided tours are an open opportunity to explore the structures of the Prague independent scene in detail via its pillars – theatre, multicultural spaces, and residential places. Visiting these culture places will allow for an introspect into its functioning, dramaturgy, and the issues it has to deal with. At the same time, strolling in the city landscape is a chance to decode the complex and locally divided cultural context, as well as for informal meetings.

Smíchov – Old Town – New Town // from the outskirts to the city centre
How do the mental, landscape, and culture city maps differ from each other and where do the borders between the centre and the outskirts occur? In what context does the outskirts become the centre and when does the centre become the outskirts? Can working on the outskirts be more visible and accessible than in the overloaded centre that is more and more a mere scene for tourists?
A stroll between the multigenre space Meetfactory, Divadlo Archa, and Divadlo X10 – these are the pivotal culture islands framed by the rail track and the highway, as well as atypical tourism and a giant head of Franz Kafka.

Vršovice – Žižkov // cross the horizon
Bringing innovative thoughts and concepts that cross the standards of today is a way to maintain positive culture growth and artistic diversity. Vrsovice and Zizkov are city neighbourhoods full of places of inspirational alternatives. Places that often diminish before they can fully reach their potential, but which always leave a great legacy behind them.
The first visit will be Petrohradska kolektiv, a residential and multigenre space, next the stroll will lead us across Vinohrady horizon to the hall of Venuse ve Svehlovce that by pure optimism established itself from nothing as one of the main Prague scenes towards the established Palac Akropolis and its new art focuses.
3| Friday 28. 02. // 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (Meeting point 11:00 Accreditation centre – Bar U Hrdinů // Dukelských hrdinů 26)
Holešovice // the face of diversity versus the face of gentrification
Holesovice, on the one hand a fortress of independent and alternative culture, on the other hand a symbol of gentrification – a reality of the changing city. Fluid change and uncertainty is not only a negative consequence of the growth, but also a stimulating impulse to look for new strategies, mutual support and forms of operation.
The stroll leads across the culturally established Alfred ve dvoře theatre, across the new DOX gallery multifunctional hall and the Cross Attic residential studio.
Only for festival guests. 20 people only.
