The Changing of Practice section intended for the professional theatre community, reflects on the perspectives of change in various areas of cultural practice. We would like to explore internal mechanisms, and means and tools that can lead to an immediate and comprehensive transformation of artistic practice and its perception by the professional and general public.

Malá inventura Festival will open with an intensive work meeting of foreign experts and representatives of the Czech regions and government ministries. Workshops and discussions will focus on the development of so called cultural and creative industries. Their definitions and needs are constantly changing. Examples of best practices from abroad will therefore help the regions and the capital with developing a suitable strategy and their search for tools that could support these activities.
The meeting is a follow-up of the Bridging the Scenes project, in which Nová síť participated and which enabled collaboration of the cities of Prague, Berlin, Sofia, and Copenhagen in areas such as the working conditions of artists, appropriate way to set up grant programmes, and others.
The project’s partner festivals include the Performing Arts Festival in Berlin (Germany), Selected Works Festival in Copenhagen (Denmark), and Act Festival in Sofia (Bulgaria).
Only for registered participants.

I use to make small postcards of the places where I go walking. I cut out a piece of landscape and save it in my memory. My phone's memory. I cut, I filter, I frame. I share what I experienced. I share to survive. I smile no matter what happens.
Two friends went for a walk in order to dissolve into it once and for all.
Vendula Tomšů and Johana Pocková's intermedia performance brings together storytelling, dance and object theater.

The annual ART-IN-RES symposium creates a space for encounters and solutions to common topics, formulation of needs and opportunities for development of the field of creative residencies. This year we want to extend the ART-IN-RES symposium to professional public and artistic community, and provide space for creators to meet with providers of residency centres in the Czech Republic. As a result, there will be an opportunity to establish new contacts and discuss the direction of residencies’ development, opportunities abroad, and other prospects.
The ART-IN-RES platform for the support of creative residencies has been running for three years, growing every year, enjoying ever-increasing interest and awareness. It brings together almost 40 host organisations providing residencies in performing arts and other disciplines, runs successful international residency programmes, and provides arts services.
Only for registered participants.

Let yourself be carried away by a discussion, before it vanishes.
The cracks in our view and in the habitual ways of our thinking inspire our innumerable discussions. The festival engages in a discussion with artists, audiences enter into dialogue with artists, performances, with other spectators, with themselves, with earlier versions of themselves, with things, and with environment they occupy. There are discussions that include given participants, having clearly marked boundaries. But what if we decide to climb the fence and engage in a discussion differently?
Instructions:
Grab a card after a performance and let it guide you. Where will the discussion take you now? Confide in someone close to you, chat with a colleague, use the card as a bookmark. Slide it under the door of your festival colleague’s hotel room, put it under someone’s cup of coffee, use it as a postcard and send it to unknown address. You don’t feel like it? Never mind, put it off for tomorrow and use it after another performance. It doesn’t make sense to you what it says? Rip it up into pieces or exchange it with someone. Make your own card and give it to someone. Engage in the discussion differently. Stir up a crack.
Cards will be available only after selected performances, so watch out!
